Sunday Night

Sunday, April 1, 2012

Winding down after a long day that started with foggy air really isn't all too bad. The apple blossoms are blooming and I don't think I've ever seen the grass so green. The little girls had their choir and dance performances this afternoon in which Meredith was her cute self, Mallory did the most hilarious dance ever (she's so funny), and I laughed so hard I honestly almost died. And then ran barefoot around a church. Because my flip-flops broke.

I always find myself journaling about the past month, jotting down goals for the coming month, and blog brainstorming on the last day of the month. So that's exactly where I was Saturday night. Needless to say, I'm crazy excited for April. Some fun things coming to the blog (any other post requests?) along with the april design. And my other goals?

read six books (to top my 4 from this month) // put 3 or more items in my etsy shop (oh, yeah. I still have that empty thing...) // restock my shelf at the coffeehouse // dust off those drawing skills // do a vlog (because it's been forever.) // reach chapter 3 in my novel (which is extremely ambitious considering it's taken over a year to write half the first chapter.)

Happy April! What are your goals?
xo. Megan

  2. Happy April to you, too!

I just love your blog, Megan. Your photography, your writing... everything. (Your handwriting on that journal is just gorgeous.)

I'm super excited for April too. My aunt & cousin are coming to visit for 5 days. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so that'll be fun. Also, I just ordered a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my Canon Rebel T3, and it's supposed to come in this week. So I'm totally excited to use it!

By the way, I saw The Hunger Games this weekend. I have to say, I expected a lot more. My dad and I both decided on a 3.5 out of 5 rating. But it was still pretty good :) I loved Haymitch. And Peeta. And well, everyone.

Sorry for this crazy long comment. If you read this far, you're amazing. (You still are anyways.)

P.S. Looking forward to the vlog :)

    1. Aw. Thanks, dear.
Jealous of your new lens. Saving for my f/1.8 (35 or 50. can't decide) and hopefully will have it this summer.
What?! I rated it like 10 out of 5. It was perfect. [but I know everyone has different opinions] ;) Haymitch was so hilarious. And Caesar is my ultimate hero. not even kidding.
      xo.

    2. Haha. 10 out of 5. That made me laugh. Don't ask why I'm reading all your blog comments at 2am. I have a fever. I can't breath. Half the time I keep thinking I'm in a hospital bed suffering from a jousting match. But I did win. ..I don't know. Tell me to go to bed.

  4. I love how crisp and lovely your photos are! Especially the ones with the sun in them. And your goals for April are great. I should definitely come up with goals for this month. Really looking forward to your vlog! And I'll be stalking your etsy. ;)

    1. I stalk your etsy daily. If I was rich, your shop would be empty because I would buy everything.

    2. HAHA! If I was rich, half of etsy would be empty. Seriously. ;) Oh, and my AOU post may be just a tad late tomorrow... I feel bad because most of my posts don't publish when I schedule them (or I forget to schedule them... oops) and I don't even realize it until like 3, and by that time someone's already been super nice and posted it for me. And then I sit in the corner of my room and stroke my dog and feel like a loser the rest of the day. But the post I was planning I won't be able to do since I wasn't feeling well enough to take the photos I needed for the post. (Did you even get that last part? Cause re-reading it, I have no idea what I just said.) Just thought I'd let you know that my post will be a little later. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow. And my non-feverish brain will be able to come up with a better post idea than the one I just came up with. Cause... um, yea. I'm not sure I need an explanation for that one. But being sick's not an excuse. At least not for serious bloggers like us. ;)
whoa... when I was saying it out in my head, my comment was not this long. my bad.

  10. Megan, thank you so much for following my blog and commenting. I don't know when I would have found you otherwise, and what a shame that would be! Your blog is beautiful -- the photos, your words, everything. I can't wait to get lost in your archives. What a pleasant treat on a Monday! XO

  11. Goal numer 10: don't rewrite the first chapter of my book because marissa is ready to read the rest and is sick of reading the same thing over and over and over and over. :)

    I'm just kidding.

I'm going to get some books for you at the library. So you can break this habit of book snobby-ness. - just kidding.... kinda.

    I loved this post.

    ps. you need new shoes.

    1. surprisingly this is the first pair I've ever broken. Could be because I seriously go barefoot everywhere. Or it could be because I buy good flip-flops? probably the first. Ha.
