lover of doodles and words

Sunday, January 8, 2012

I can easily say that my words board on pinterest is my biggest. Words are my favorite. Something about them, either things people said or things they thought -- just makes me happy to read. My sister is the same way. We're quote fanatics, truly. When faced with the question of what to give my sister for christmas,  I wanted it to be different than the normal store bought gift. However, I had but one night + morning to complete the project swirling in my head. Pinterest boards as my guide, I set off on a creative adventure.

what I used:
-blank brown soft cover moleskine lined book
-black papermate felt tipped pen
-4 8.5''x11'' pages of images via pinterest

and since showing you my drawings are long since due, here are a few from my own moleskine and sketchbook.

do you have any favorite quotes?
xo, megan

  10. This is soooo cool! I love it. The different styles of handwriting you used are gorgeous!

I just started working on a art journal for myself. I decided it would be cool to journal on scrap paper, and then at the end of the year bind it together into a book. I hope it turns out nicely! I looked up some tutorials on sewing/binding books, and it looks really cool!

  14. Amazing idea! I have a few notebooks I use for various things, and the last couple of pages, in ALL of them, are filled with quotes and doodles. Usually, I write down song lyrics, quotes and names from books I've read, etc. I think I should put them all together in one notebook! Great gift idea though! I'm sure your sister will love it! :)

  21. this is a glorious post. moleskines = <3 I'm going to do an entire post about my variegated collection. :) I've started an art journal, but I'm so worried about messing it up, that I haven't done hardly anything in it yet... way to go actually doing it and making it gorgeous!
