"No, no, no, I distinctly remember--Summer was last year"

"that's the funny thing about seasons... they're kind of an annual thing."
I love the movie Tangled (I've seen it 5+ times). So cute! Although that fact about me is completely beside the point.
It can't possibly be summer yet, can it? It seems like just yesterday that I was groaning about how far away camp was and now I'm stressing over whether or not I'll be ready for it or not. Of course, I know I will be, but I always have that feeling that I'm going to forget something, or I'm not going to find that one thing that I wanted or needed.

For those of you who have started following me between June 2010 and now, you probably don't know that I go to camp for three weeks in June. Yes, three weeks. The first week (camper ages: 4th grade to 6th) I help with siblings and do whatever the director needs me to (this year I'm teaching a staff kid's (3rd grade and under) bible class while the campers and teachers are off teaching and having their bible classes). The second week (camper ages: 10th to grad) I basically do nothing with the occasional watch of a child or hand in the kitchen (yeah, I cook for high schoolers, how special =]). And the last week (camper ages 7th - 9th) I'm a camper!

Camp in incredibly fun and it wouldn't be summer without it. As you might have gathered--there's no technology at camp, so no blogging three weeks straight for me. Last year I just left my blog for three weeks, but that was when I only had 20 some followers. Now I have 194 followers and I promise I will not leave you in the dust as I did last year.

I've pulled in a bunch of amazing bloggers (i.e. Abigail Kraft, Carlotta... and many more) so you will have some company while I'm gone.
And speaking of 194 followers--only 6 until the big 2-0-0. I'm thinking that if you all are awesome and I get six more followers while I'm away, when I return I'll host a fun giveaway celebration 200 followers? Of course, I could giveaway my own items, but don't you think it would be more fun if you did? I just set up my 'sponsor' page yesterday, and for anyone interested in donating an item for the giveaway (or even a future one) you can check that out.

Concerning the Lovely You series, I will post one last time for that (on the first for the 4 day running challenge) and continue with it after I get back (the 25th).
I will definitely be bringing my camera along, so you can expect a lot of pictures when I get back.

Speaking of the word definitely... I got a super awkward comment today.
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Tips to Better Blogging"
Thanks for this post. However I'd like to bring to your attention that you put such emphasis on spell-checking when you spelled "definitely" wrong, on your blog many times. You spell defiantly which means resisting, like defiant.
So I just thought I'd let you know because since defiantly is a word spell checker won't catch it.
Okay, so I spelled definitely wrong a few times. wow anonymous, give me a break, everyone makes mistakes. How embarrassing is that though... ? =]

Anyways...(sorry, I got sidetracked) yes, I will be leaving on the 4th for camp, but--I'm leaving you some company and please donate to my giveaway.

leaving you with an utterly random post,
--Megan

  1. Wow - Anonymous people can be so rude. I mean, come on - it would be different if you spelled like *five* or *six* words wrong in each post. But "one word"...Anonymous...really?! Oh me, oh my.

Trust my though Megan, you're not the only one getting rude comments (One girl formed an Etsy MOB and I got wicked comments from them on my blog). Sheesh. :/

  2. Wow! Have fun at camp!
I wish I was going to camp. I was going to a two week camp that I went to last year, but then we found out that we're moving. So, camp is no longer an option. *cries*

  3. Yay! I can't wait to guest post. =D Wow, anonymous, way to be a party pooper! (I almost spelled anonymous wrong.... :P) I've gotten a few of those myself - and their most definitely not the most encouraging comments ever. Haha, don't worry about it (not that you are...) because there are 194+ people who LOVE you Megan! =D You are awesome, and I'm sure I'm gonna be really depressed when you leave. =( Waa. But the cool thing is I'll be able to post on your blog. Wow. Pretty amazing. =D Have a super-duper amazing time at camp!! ♥

  10. I don't think anonymous was being rude or a party pooper, I don't think anonymous was stepping out of bounds at all.

On one hand, I don't like it when people comment anonymously because they're usually really rude.

On the other hand, I don't think this comment was rude at all. Sure, it's a bit blunt, but I don't think it's rude. I'm sure A was posting it to help you rather than embarrass you.
