When I thought I was a great blogger... Everything crashed

When I blog I feel good about my posts, by followers, and my design.

The results do not bring a smile to my face. I go to popular blogs, and I get the feeling they are great.

I feel like I'm just one of those bloggers that you go 'oh, her'.

I feel like the name of my blog is too long.

I feel like, I not good enough to be a blogger.

I guess, I'm just not one.

Because when I think of a blogger, I think of a cool design, a pretty good photographer, a good writer, and a post that actually gets comments.

I basically only have a few followers, because when I think followers, I think someone who actually comments.

Because I know most of my followers will not be reading this post (You know bloggers stats), I know I'll only get a few comments.

The most comments I ever get is for giveaways, so I guess this is the 'only go to for giveaways' blog.

I guess this might me the end of this blog. "oh well, didn't like it anyway." (-you)

we'll see.

  1. I feel what every single word you just said! LITERALLY! Although I think you didn't get it right with your design. I like your whole blog set up/design really I do! Although I feel all of the above about my blog!I hope you won't be leaving the blogging world!:)
I have 59 followers(I got two today) but only about 9 of them ever comment! :/

  2. Megan, I absolutely love your blog. You are an amazing photographer, an outstanding writer, and your designs are also very beautiful! Please don't delete this blog. I really love it. I also often feel the same about my own blog, but then I realized that one of the reasons that I started blogging is to just be myself totally and completely. And I can't do that if all the time I'm worried that this person’s blog is so much more popular than mine, this person's blog is better designed, etc. So I try to feel better and inspire myself. I practice my writing, my photography, my design, so that I can improve and maybe even have a more popular blog, but mostly just to feel inside that I am me, and that’s totally fine. As your title, says, that’s all I have to be, that’s all anyone has to be.

  3. Sorry that you feel that way. I really do like your blog, and I won't use any excuse for not commenting, I just don't and I will more. I think that the title is really cool, that's one of the reason's I liked it so much (not the only one though). I won't tell you whether or not you should delete this blog, because that's your choice, but I would miss it if you left.

You have no idea how awesome I think your stuff is, I wish I knew all this HTML stuff and how to make buttons and use cool fonts, I think your pictures are really cool too. And your writing is real, it's not some weird writing where I don't know where you're going and I feel like you're on mars.

Sometimes people just aren't great followers, and I know I haven't been a good one on your blog, but you are really real and down-to-earth, and it's a nice break from some really "I'm an elven princess" blogs that I follow, not that I don't like them, I do that's why I follow. Anyway, I digress.

I think every blogger goes through this, and I'm very sure that after this post, people will be commenting more.

  4. NO!! Megan! Don't stop this blog! If you aren't a good blogger than I am a TERRIBLE one :) Your blog is one of my favorite blogs (I'm not saying this just to be nice!)A lot of the "300 follower" blogs I read aren't nearly as interesting as yours, this design is *beautiful* and the post don't take up and forth of my day reading. (a VERY good thing) I also LOVE the name "Megan at Me" just has a nice ring to it. Instead of being sad about having only 76 followers, be glad you even have a computer. This is just my advice. I love your blog.

  7. Hi Megan-

First, I want to say that I love your blog. It is an enjoyable blog to read. Your photography is amazing, don't ever think that it isn't!! I don't comment very often, but I do read your blog every time you post. You should remember that some people, including me, read your bog posts on Google Reader, where I guess it doesn't show up on your stats. So, some people may be doing to same thing that I am. I like your blog name, it is very original and nice.
Remember, also, some bloggers are more popular because they do/did let people advertise on their sites, and they also link to websites. How else would you hear about them? You are a great blogger, so please don't end your blog, because I know that I'll miss it if you do.

  8. Um I like your blog!!!
And other people do too! Just because people don't comment doesn't mean anything. I've had people tell me they love my blog and I've never ever gotten a comment from them. Its weird. But you have an awesome blog megan and people read it so you shouldn't stop writing because of the lack of comments! So don't delete your blog. Keep it and just keep writing from the heart like you do! And maybe comment on other blogs too! That might get you some more commenters, just an idea.
    Love you!

    Your sis, Marissa

  9. You are such a sweet and honest sister in Christ. I sometimes think that, too--does anyone really read my blog (seeing I do not receive many comments and such like others), but I have realized, Megan, that people do read it, but may not comment because of privacy reasons or are from another country and may enjoy coming to our blogs but do not know our language--who knows! All I know is that if it is because of time restraints you should stop for a bit or if you asked the Lord about it and He said to stop.

Sorry for making it long, but I just want to encourage you to see where you think God is leading you and I should, too! ;)

    Blessings and love,
    Rachel M.

  10. Oh, one more thing: just be you!! Be yourself and that is what makes your blog unique from all the rest :) I need to remember that as well--see, I am speaking to myself!

  12. Megan, I had a thought, why did you start this blog? was it for comments? or was it to be a light (for God)unto the world? so don't leave, be a light to people who do read your blog. May God bless you and keep you, Hope Marie

  13. I vote keep your blog! I love it, and I read every post! Maybe I don't comment on every post, but I still read them, and love your photography!

  14. Oh Megan, I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Please forgive me for not commenting more. But I do read all of your post and sometimes my brain is fried (at midnight while I read) so too hard to formulate a response. However, that said, I love your blog. I love that you are real. I love that you desire to reach people with our blog. I think your design is cool. What I like most about you is that you are you. When I visit here, it's like no place I visit. Sometimes our blogs all can tend to look alike, sound alike, etc. You know? I would encourage you to continue blogging and reaching out. Be who God created YOU to be. Visit other blogs and comment and build relationships. Your followers will come. Just hang in there! I hope you don't mind this advice. I know you don't know me. But I don't want to see you give up!

  15. What are you thinking?! Don't quit this blog! It's great, Megan, look up this verse: 2 Corinthians 10:12

It's doesn't matter if you have a ton of followers, or an expensive design. Actually, I'll admit, sometimes I get jealous of your design. Then I remember that verse I just gave you. Just be yourself, and people will like you for who you are.

And DON'T even THINK about quiting this blog! *grins*

  16. Oh, Megan...you have a lovely blog, dear friend. I might not comment on every post but I do read them. You have a wonderful blog design, and your posts are just as interesting to me. I hope you don't close your blog. You're a GREAT blogger! Have a blessed day, dear friend!

  17. Oh, and just because people don't comment doesn't mean they don't read your blog.

You are such a talented blog designer and your posts are always very interesting! I'm so sorry for not commenting but as I follow 172 blogs its hard to comment on all of them :)
